Training and Education

Management of Aggressive Behaviour

  • We are certified to deliver Management of Aggressive Behaviour or (MOAB). MOAB is an 8-16-hour course designed to support Nation Staff and other front-line staff on de-escalation techniques.
  • We provide real life – on reserve examples – of challenging situations, difficult conversation and techniques to safely intervene in difficult situations.
  • Our approach incorporates culture, tradition, psychology and common-sense practices to better address challenging situations.

safeTALK (Suicide Ideation Awareness and Prevention)

  • Our team members trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) deliver the LivingWorks safeTALK program.
  • safeTALK is a half or full day alertness training that prepares anyone 15 or older, regardless of prior experience or training to become a suicide-alert helper.
  • Most people with thoughts of self harm and suicide don’t truly want to die but are struggling with pain in their lives.
  • We work with people to learn how to use their words and actions to help others stay alive.

Lateral Violence Workshops:

  • Lateral violence in the workplace is prevalent in our communities. It happens – a lot.
  • This one- or two-day workshop is designed for Indigenous governments, administration and service organizations who are wanting to ensure they have safe and healthy work environments.
  • We focus on identifying common values, respectful ways to communicate and how to properly address workplace bullies.
  • Based on community feedback this course is designed to take on issues of workplace bullying and harassment in a respectful way, while building capacity for personal safety, fairness, respect and community.
  • Delivered by highly trained experts in workplace violence, participants are provided with practical, culturally appropriate and effective solutions to affect positive, long term behavioural change
